Evolution Illegaly firing a striker

ქართული დედანი

On November 6, Tornike Kveliashvili, an employee of Evolution Georgia, was notified of the termination of his employment contract due to the expiration of the term.

This dismissal not only directly violates Article 68 of the Labor Code (which states that the participation of an employee in a strike cannot be considered a violation of labor discipline or serve as grounds for terminating the labor contract, except in the case of an illegal strike), but also contradicts a letter sent by the company on August 27. In that letter, the company specifically informed the strikers that the basis for the strike was the suspension of labor relations, and that the strike period would not count toward the duration of the employment contract.

On November 11, Tornike filed a lawsuit with the court and intends to prove his case there.

This dismissal once again highlights the hypocrisy of Evolution Georgia’s management, who seem to disregard not only the Constitution of Georgia and the Labor Code, but also their own statements. Both Swedish and international trade unions will be immediately notified about this situation.
